Hello I thought I would introduce myself I'm Olivia and I have a daughter who is nearly two. I used to have a staffy called Roxy she was lovely but due to unforeseen circumstances I had to sell her (biggest regret of my life tbh) but I'm now looking to get another staffy in my life as I just can't live without although I trained my Roxy up all by my self an very easily this time round could be different due to me having my daughter so could have a few questions and problems that I may need to ask you all about.

We are here to offer any help we can, sorry to hear that you had to let your last Staff go. Would you be looking to rescue ?

There isn't many rescues around me and with me having my daughter I need to know they will get on etc so been looking on selling sites for dogs and asking lots of questions it's not something I'm going to rush into as I've made a few mistakes in the past with dogs I got a rescue had it 2-3 days before I had to take him back as he went for me and my daughter so am a bit wary now but might be going to view a puppy tomorrow x

As long as you feel that you can deal with the trials and frustration that a Puppy will give you along with a 2 year old then fair play.

Please don't use selling sites though, you'll only end up feeding the back yard breeders that don't care about the welfare of their dogs. Your well aware of the needs of a Staff having had one before so do think carefully before getting another and if you do, where from.

be aware a puppy is a massive undertaking, yup they look cute but when you are sleep deprived, standing on cold poo each night for 4 months and look like a self harmer its not so nice. Yes very rewarding when you exit the puppy phase but its a long hard route to take. a good rescue will match a dog to you, your lifestyle and above all your family. if there is nothing near you try something not near you, the few extra quid spent travelling to rescue centers is nothing compared to the final outlay of looking after a dog. most have web sites with photos and trait descriptions anyway to potentially avoid a wasted trip.

Thankyou for all the replies - i went ahead and got the puppy i wanted and she is adorable - she is settling in very well and my daughter loves her apart from the accidents in the house she is going outside too although shes not too keen on that atm due to the horrible rain and cold weather but its not something im stressing over she still needs to get used to her cage as wines constantly when in it and through the night but i mean i cant blame her its a new place and none of her litter mates or mummy with her but i feel she is doing very well and so happy i went ahead and got her. x

Yes Roxy my old staff used to pull on the lead but one day had to go out in the rain and it was horrendous like really lashing it down I've never seen her walk so well or so close to my side before was quite amusing and she had a jumper on and a coat :L
