associating things?
since firework season started we try and keep sash in a routine where we walk her around 3 ish ,then give her dinner early(she wont eat as soon as she hears the first bang go off) let her dinner do down and then put her thundershirt on and spray it with adaptil hoping all that will work,we have had good nights and bad nights with her, when i have gone to put her shirt on just now she started to shake as soon as i put it on ,so is she associating her having her thundershirt on with the fireworks starting??if so would it be wise to keep it on all the time

Re: associating things?
You might be right Stella, she could be making that association. I would be tempted to put it on at different times of the day so as not associate it with the dark and fireworks. Might be better popping it off and on during the day.

Re: associating things?
I would also suggest putting the shirt on during other calm times during the day, does she ever sleep with it on ? this may be something to try.

IMO spot on. dogs are very clever and will associate things with certain situations. pick up the lead and they know its walkies so no reason to think she isnt associating the shirt with a night of noise
