Staffy Collar
Hi All,
I'm looking for a staffy collar for baxter but all the ones I can can see are over an inch thick which isn't the look I want. I'm looking for one with the staffie brass fittings but without the width, has anyone got any recommendations ?
Thanks

Re: Staffy Collar
Best I have seen (and they are narrow and you can choose a 'customised' one to some extent) are the handmade ones on the Northern Staffie Rescue website. A % of profit from them goes to the rescue. I bought one for my late staffie and my late mini bull. Her's was very pretty and girly - she had Yorkshire roses and sun-bursts on it. Still the price I paid a few years back. It looks expensive - but both of our's outlived the dog and are so well made, you will never buy another.
The pic on the site is tiny and doesn't do them justice. When both my dogs died, we kept the collars as our main memento. I will be passing the last collar to my new dog when she is big enough, as a present from our late dog.
Lovely to buy a collar and know a brilliant staffy rescue benefit from it, too!

ETA: Just realised this is the collar in my avatar - bad phone camera pic but you get the gist! The brass things go the whole way round but she had the plain bit with the buckle on towards the camera so that pic doesn't do it justice.

We got Ralph's from Pets Safe - really good value, with matching leads and they are great quality. I'd totally recommend.

Re: Staffy Collar
I don't recommend a narrow collar, they can put too much pressure on the neck.
Bo uses a harness but before that he had a hunter collar (this one http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/dogs/dog_collars_dog_leads/collars/red_pink_leather_dog_colalrs/42964 ) and a Paws one (this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005FLS8JE/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Both were really good but the Hunter was a bit better made, hence the price.

Re: Staffy Collar
Have only ever used Ezydog and I do like the wide ones, just find them a bit more secure

Re: Staffy Collar
Thansk for replies, I have one of the PetSafe collars but when it came it was a lot wider than i thought and looks too big when I put it on Baxter, guess he's only six months so he'll grow into it. I take the point about a narrow collar putting stress on the neck, i'd never thought about it like that.
