Puppy attacked today
The mrs texted to say our dog attacked today. A man had a staff on the lead while approaching walking the other direction. She out the boy on the lead but left the bitch off. As he got closer he said his dogs fine so the mrs said to out bitch go say hello then. His dog then attacked it and got it's face. To the wife's suprise ours retaliated back defending itself. As soon as she shouted on her she came back though. The man was apologetic and she did say he looked shocked and said that hasn't happened before. Really hope it doesn't effect the way our dog is going to progress. She's 8 months now and fine with dogs etc

Re: Puppy attacked today
Glad she's ok, hopefully I won't affect her, does she have any doggy friends you could meet up with to reinforce more positive meetings?

Re: Puppy attacked today
Yeah we have another dog and the mrs sister has one aswell. We meet a lot of dogs out walks. She said she saw 2 dogs after that and was fine with them. Just need to keep a wee eye on her to see if anything changes with her behaviour with new dogs. Had a German sheperd before that was attacked twice as a pup and it wasn't the same with dogs after that we had to be carefull where we let it of etc.

Re: Puppy attacked today
Was it a proper attack or a telling off. Sometimes older dogs will tell the younger ones off to try to teach them how to approach etc. it might just have been an unfortunate incident but as long as no harm was done I'm sure your little one will be fine.

Re: Puppy attacked today
Ouch. Hopefully it won't be something that sits in the memory. Best thing to do I guess is to get the puppy socialising with as many other dogs as possible as soon as possible.
