The Dolphin Inn, Kingston.

Met up with a friend in this Pub as it was recommended to me as Quaint. I would call it small !

Full of character and full of Dogs. I think there were more Dogs in here than Humans to begin with !
A really nice Pub in a great setting, worth a visit if you get the chance.

Devon Empty Dartmoor Union Pub

Post by -Ian- Thu Aug 28 2014, 20:13

We stayed in the Village of Hobelton which has 2 Pubs. This one is Family & Pet/Dog friendly, not sure what other pets you would want to take with you but nice to know I guess Laughing

We had dinner here twice as the food was so good. Really friendly and comes complete with an open log fire if you've returned from the moors cold and hungry.

Would definitely return here.

The other Pub in the village was the Mildmay Colours, didn't find out if it was dog friendly as Flo decided she wanted to go sleeps so me & my eldest only sampled some drinks Smile

Devon Empty Dartmoor

Post by -Ian- Thu Aug 28 2014, 20:25

Not sure if this should be in the Pub section but it does serve alcohol so I guess it's fine.
We had been on a bit of a hike nearby and needed some hot drinks and snacks. Located near Dartmeet, this is signed as a Tea room so we had Cream Teas Big Grin

As you pass through Dartmeet you will go over a bridge heading out of Dartmoor, the Tea room is on the left straight after the bridge. Go through the car park and at the far end you will find Badgers Holt. On asking if Dogs were welcome we were told "As long as she's on a lead and doesn't eat the Cat she's very Welcome". The Cat came and found us !, it then preceded to watch Flo from the relative safety of a banister but Flo simply ignored it. The Cat did move when a Ridgeback came in though Laughing

A huge menu ranging from Roast dinners to Cream Teas, so if you've been out on the moors for the day, a great place to stop to refuel.

Had a few days on Dartmoor again and stayed here at the http://www.bearslakeinn.com/ which is in the North west of Dartmoor not far off the A30

The food was fab and very Dog friendly as Flo wasn't the only one in there but it is a small bar area which could become very busy.

the garden is huge with plenty of seating and fab views of the hills in the background and a gentle stream which you can sit beside and relax Smile
