Re: dog insurance
I can recommend animal friends - I have claimed from them and it was simple, whatever you do just make sure you get lifetime cover Xx

Re: dog insurance
i was looking at kennel club insurance, it costs 22 pounds a month, i have an excess of 85 pounds and for every vet fee i have to pay 10 per cent of the fees, i get 5000 pounds vet fees a year, lost or stolen, and some other little things, i am now doing a quote on money supermarket.com, yes lifetime cover of course or that the fees re new each year.

Re: dog insurance
I could recommend Argos, they paid out for a claim very quickly, now with More Than due to increase in monthly payments.

Re: dog insurance
I'm with Animal Friends, haven't had to claim yet but pay £11 a month. Was with pet plan but my premium went up by £8 in 2 years without making a single claim! Was paying £26 a month in the end, was silly!

They did just the same thing with us too Rachel, we now pay about £18 per month with More Than on a lifetime policy.

I pay £20 with tesco, but I'm thinking of looking at Animal Friends. Recently had awful experience with pet plan.

Re: dog insurance
We paid £160 for the year with Animal Friends. A word of warning, the insurance has a 14 day illness and a 5 day accident waiting period before it started, so sort it at least a fortnight before you need cover.

Re: dog insurance
What do you mean? I was going to start cover from now (10 weeks old) or should I wait until I need it?

We waited until the day her kc insurance ran out. I phoned to buy the new cover but had this waiting period.

What Pete means is that most insurance policies will have a 14 day settling in period (this means you cannot make a claim within the first 14 days of the policy), best to let the old policy overlap by a couple of weeks to make sure your dog is covered.
