Aaaaahhhhtishooooo .....
x 100!!
This week Lily has started sneezing one after the other for an hour on 3 occasions. Took her to the vet yesterday and he gave her an injection - £42 thank you. He said she could have an allergy to something breathed in or even eaten. Today she started again. Does anyone have any experience of this, is it OK to give human antihistamines? I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

You can give Piriton. We give a whole one every day to our Flo during summer but you might want to try just a half tablet to start with.

Thanks for the reply, I will get some tomorrow. I feel so sorry for her, she only has little legs so every time she sneezes she bangs her face on the floor. Just been looking on the internet and it could be anything from an allergy to a growth in her nose - I think I will take her back to the vet in the morning. She has finally settled after 2 hours but not going to take any chances.

A little tip though.. If the pharmacy ask you who the Piriton is for, don't say your dog as they may refuse to serve you. This happened to us and the reason given was that they can't dispense for animals

Re: Aaaaahhhhtishooooo .....
There is something that effects dogs this time of year im sure of it.... both my two were reverse sneezing this time last year but fine now. alot of my friends with dogs have had the very same issue this year. its lasts approx two weeks. i remember at the time being concerned as i had read about alot of other dogs having similar symtoms but with no definitive cause. seems to be like a mild cold or allergy...been trying to get to the bottom of it for ages

That's really interesting Nathan - I will keep fingers crossed that this is the case. She sneezed all night, I could hear her and felt that sorry for her I took her to the vet again this morning after Googling it and finding it could be anything from an allergy to a nose tumour!!!! Scared the life out of me. Another injection and tablets this time - £52 thank you. They are still going down the allergy route without any specific idea as to what. So I really do hope that it is the non-specific sneezing you mentioned.

Could well be an allergy, have you recently changed your washing detergent as this can often be a cause ?
