confidence....
I don't know what it is or why he does it, but if I walk with liam and I cross the road or go to the toilet or something and I've walked away from loki and liam, loki will scream blue murder or be constantly looking at/for me,
We went to turf locks for my friends engagement party last night and I went to the toilet and loki screamed when I left and was lunging trying to get to me.
I am going to pick up a crate on thursday, as he can now jump the stairgate.
Any advice to help him not be so anxious when I leave, he's fine when I leave for work and he's with liam, it's just if I am out and I disappear for a bit.

Re: confidence....
Do you have another person you can walk with? If so try disappearing for increasing amounts of time and the other person can reward with a treat if he doesn't scream

Re: confidence....
You could try to have him sit, stay , and disappear out of eye sight. If he moves repeat the process until he will wait

Yeah!! I'm going to have a go tomorrow and I'm hoping the crate will help him as well.

Re: confidence....
The crate may help but I've never really used one.

Re: confidence....
I just think he needs to detach from me a bit and it doesn't help that he can sleep whoever he pleases

Re: confidence....
He's only very young. Do practice training - one minute, two minutes etc.
Also - do not feel guilty. It's good for him to be able to stand on his own four paws: I know dog-owners who feel guilty for leaving their dog alone for periods of time but that only seems to create an anxious situation for both owner and dog.

Re: confidence....
I would walk him as much as possible. Do some mental stimulation and leave a frozen kong. Best of luck

Re: confidence....
We left him with, a stag bar, a plastic chew bone, his duck, I'm worried he's gonna try and get out of the cage and hurt himself, but that's just me over thinking.

We've always let Suki have the free run of the house. She never did any major damage thankfully
