Hello all
Hi to everyone, I'm Ste
After a lot of deliberating and weighing up pros and cons, we are now a family of 5 after the addition of Max. He is 9 weeks old, which we know is young, but he is fine and settled in excellently
He's in a great home and we can't wait for him to be trained fully, which will be fun :bang head: and be able to accompany us on our days out. As you can see, though, he doesn't like being woken up for a photo shoot
Anyway, I came across the website by accident while looking for hints/tips and so hopefully I'll learn lots from here.
Cheers. Ste

Re: Hello all
Thanks all.
The first few days he was on Pedigree Chum Tinned and Bakers Dry Puppy food, but after a visit to the Vets, we have (slowly) changed him over to Royal Canin Puppy after they recommended it. He seems to have adapted well to the change.
He's fed at 7am, 1pm and then 6pm, though we are thinking of changing it to maybe twice a day, but are not sure as he may be too young. He gets the odd little treat for doing good but these are just the free ones we got off the vet. There's so much choice and so many varying opinions, that its probably the hardest decision to make in what to feed them! My failsafe was to go with what the vet said, and what was not cheap lol. We want to reward him with something good when he does something "big" but unsure what to give, as the array of colourful (and probably unhealthy) dog treats is unreal
As for the collar, we're trying to get him used to it for when we get to go out after his injections. At the moment though, his reaction to the lead means we may well not get to take him on walks until early February

Re: Hello all
hi mate, for treats you can give him scruffy bites, there perfect becasue they are medium soft and you can break them up in halk to give, or you can give him the teathing treats which are good, me at the moment i'm giving tessa 2 handfulls of eukanuba hard food mixed with a spoonfull of butchers tinned puppy food (jelly not gravy), the breeder was giving her 2 handfulls of eukanuba with 100ml of boiling water with lactol added, but the trainer who came round to give me a one to one understanding told me to cut the lactol out and put a spoon full of wet puppy food the jelly type,so i'm doing that.

Re: Hello all
im giving tessa two handfulls each meal (i'm actually going to weigh how much two handfulls is) because tessa isnt eating much, and i think its because i'm giving her too much each meal as i also mix it with a tablespoon of wet tinned food, and the bowl does end up full so i'm going to cut out the wet food and give her also 30/40 gr each meal and see if she eats it all, until what age are you going to keep these doses?

Re: Hello all
To be honest, I'm just using the guide given off the bag, and will increase portions in line with his weight increase.
We are unsure as to when/whether to go to twice daily feeds instead of three times a day. We don't want him to feel starved so that he thinks each meal is his last.
