missing fur patch
I'm bringing her to the vet today. We noticed this about a week ago. We thought it was her collar rubbing so we removed it. Its been over a week and it seems to have become worse. The skin does look dry. We have never seen her scratch in this area. Anyone else experience this?

Sorry, haven't experienced it but do let us know how you get on at the vets.

Thank you, the vet says its a skin infection . We think it started from leaving a wet collar on her after bathing. We are giving her antibiotics in pill form. Hoping it does the trick.

Re: missing fur patch
Update, apparently the vet was correct it was a skin infection caused by her wet collar. Her fur is growing back as well as the other areas around her neck line. I've been using a harness since we took off the collar. I'm not sure if I will be using the cloth type collar again. I was thinking of a metal collar just to hold her tags. What are you using?

Re: missing fur patch
Do you keep her collar on 24/7? I wouldn't use metal collar, they can get the fur caught and pinch at the skin! Not comfy at all. I use a fleece lined collar and only put it on her when she's out of the house. Maybe you could have a spare collar for when her usual one is wet to swap it with?
