Limping! Got a boo boo :(
Bug started limping on a walk on Saturday, it seemed to ease up and I couldn't see anything stuck in her foot, so I carried on as usual. She was limping a little bit on her toilet walk this morning, just taken her out for a run and she ran super fast and threw herself on the floor in a typical staffie fashion, and then was really struggling to walk, so took her home.
Just tried to pick up her paw and bathe it, and she let me but was very licky and trying to headbutt my hand away from her paw Bathed it and noticed this little red lumpy thing right on her claw. I put a little bit of pressure on it, and she squeaked so i'm assuming it's this that's causing her the trouble.
Anyone else had anything like it?
Going to bath it in some warm water later, should I rest her for tonight and tomorrow and then reassess?

I usually use warm salt water and take it easy on the walk.

Re: Limping! Got a boo boo :(
Very similar to what Vins has looked like but his was more the dew claw. Was quite swollen at the base, I assumed he had ripped it as could not see anything. Just bathed with salt water for a few days. My vet says Rach 1/2 teaspoons of salt to a pint of warm water. xx

I tried to put a poultice on it and she literally screamed!! Feel so guilty. Going to leave it alone now til tomorrow. How was Vinnies in the end Inez? Did you ever find out what it was? Going to have her on short toilet walks til Friday and if still not better will take her to the vets my poor buglet!

Aw poor Bis.
Alfie recently had similar but he had ripped his claw near the base which kept bleeding. We bathed it and had to have house rest for a few days. The way he pulls on the lead kept making it worse. All better now though

Does look rather sore. I would bathe it in salt water for a few days too. If no better then a trip to the vets I guess.

Re: Limping! Got a boo boo :(
After 24 hours of salt bathing and manuka honey-ing it's not red at all, but stil swollen and still limping. She's only had two 15 min on lead walks today, but still clearly struggling. Going to see how she is when I get home at 4 tomorrow, and if still no better it'll be vets first thing on Friday morning. Martyn said she screamed when he very gently put the honey on earlier! Got the insurance if it's a pricey one, just wanna get my bug fixed

Re: Limping! Got a boo boo :(
Just got back from vets - he thinks it's a sprain to a ligament. Anti inflammation meds and reduced exercise. Didn't limp when she got there so he didn't believe me at first. But redness has gone and no hole or lump to say that there's a foreign object in there xx
