Are Amstaffs banned in the uk?

No but they can fall into 'type' but then so can many x

So why are they not legal aint they just american bulldog cross staff?

Because and I could be wrong so someone correct me if I am - they are not a registered KC breed in England so can't be put on the banned list - but they will still be classed as a Pit Bull type - so in a way yes they are banned.

Just cant get my head round it thats all as i tempted in getting one.And its only like a american bull bred with a staff so whats the prob.

We used to have a member with an Amstaff - lovely thing - and I don't make the rules blame BSL.

someone near me has one and its a beautiful well behaved dog. while the owner putting the baby in the car it sits at the front door waiting and even if you walk past with your dog it just ignores you. I`ve walked past it on a walk with Lula and even when an annoying little dog was jumping all over it behaved brilliantly.

An amstaff isn't a staffy x American bulldog, it's from what I understand its basically a pitbull show dog but I could be wrong

You are correct and Suki is an AmStaff

Unfortunately bsl all comes down to measurements. You could have a staffie that is just slightly too tall and has the measurements, and thats it you dog is deemed type.

they are banned in the uk becasue they are show pitbull
