My staffy scratches his ear till it bleeds :(
My 2 yr old staffy has recently started itching & scratching his ear till it bleeds & he yelps in pain I'm taking him too the vets in a few days but any suggestions on heat could be wrong or any home ways too ease the pain for him. I'm wondering if it could be when we take him for walks he runs in the little stream :/ thank youu

Does Charlie let you check inside his ear? See if theres dirt or anything crawling? Does it smell? could be an infection like JStaff says.

It could be an infection so best to pop to the vet like you are. Sudocrem is good for soothing things like that in the meantime and hopefully easing the itchy, even if just a little bit.

Daisy has done that in the past when she's had ear infections, the vets usually gives her an injection to stop the itching and anti-biotics to clear up the infection. Can you get into the vets any sooner? If not you could try a piriton for the itching in the meantime. x

Yes sounds like an infection, you could use some olive oil on a cotton wool ball and gently wipe it out. But best get vet to check and get some meds

Personally wouldn't use oil based products - but that is my opinion. Moo has been prone to ear infections and I use thornit - I would suggest seeing a vets sooner rather than later as its easier to treat if it is an infection - just drops, usually anti biotics and a cleaner.
