Hi everyone,

My name is Lynn live in Sydney Australia, and we have 2 staffys
female named Gypsy, and a Male named Jack. now around 4 years old.
Gypsy is full on sometimes we think she has ADD but very loving, and Jack is a gentle giant, very gentle, just likes to sit with you all the time.
thanks for this forum, its great to see what other people say and do with their staffys.
I am sure I will pick up hints and tips, and maybe help others with their staffys too.

In scotland (shock horror) its really hot i take my dog out really early in the morning and night when its cooled down. During the day i close the curtains if the room is bathed in sunlight. To new dog owners be careful as the pavements get really warm .(dnt mean to sound patronising)

What made you go for an english staffy? Im just wondering, i know theyre different and staffies are a lot more open to strangers but im just wondering how people feel about the two breeds in australia!

Im guessing amstaffs are more popular? Or am i wrong? This is very interesting to me

Hello, to everyone, and thanks again, for all the warm welcomes. all your dogs look lovely.
lots of people here have American staffys, they are lovely dogs. no bans that I know of here yet. it will eventually get to the stage, when all our staffys will have to be muzzled due to all the dog accidents, and unfortunately it most always seem to be somesort of bull terrier, which then makes everyone tentative towards staffys etc...
we chose English staffys for they happy nature and very friendly with kids. My dogs are so friendly, happy all the time. our grandkids play with them and they are fine with them. but... at the end of the day, they are dogs and still we watch them with the kids, because they play rough.
