Is pretty good and even though its mostly dog training there is a fair bit of behaviour thrown in for good measure.

Re: Studying dogs behaviour
I qualified as a trainer with The Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour (CIDBT) it took me 2 years and cost £1,500. Most of this was home study, but there were 2 workshops for the lecturers to assess your handling skills. To qualify as a behaviourist, you can study to Honours degree level with the CIDBT, and the course is accredited through Middlesex university. This would take roughly 5 years and would cost about £7,000.
I stopped after qualifying as a trainer as I could not afford the fees, and there is no student loan funding for these courses. Also, in order to gain the vital hands on experience you ideally would need to be working in an environment where you would be handling dogs; so a kennels, grooming parlour or as a dog walker/handler. These occupations are generally low paid, which makes it hard to pay for the university fees. However, if you have savings or can get help financially the courses with the CIDBT are worth their weight in gold. They are the only courses that give you a proper qualification and are accredited through a university. Right now anybody can work as a behaviourist with no formal qualifications, this is obviously wrong, and there is work going on to stop this at the moment. There are cheaper courses around, but once the legislation comes in stopping work without qualification, they will be useless.
If you would just like to learn about dog behaviour, there are some really great books that I could recommend that I read whilst on the courses

Re: Studying dogs behaviour
I wanted to do the course as Rachel has above but couldn't get the funding so was unable to complete it. It's the only one I would have considered doing.

Re: Studying dogs behaviour
No problem! The workshop would only really be once per course, and it's not for every course
