Even in Sheffield prices can vary so much from area to area! I could have had a bigger house but I really wanted to stay in this area so got a smaller one!

yea same in notts also when i live they around 80,000 to 150,000 if you go down the road to ruddingham village you cant get anything below 180,000 some can be 400,000 to 600,000 like the link

there some rough part in nottingham where you can buy a house for only 30,000 to 40,000

it crazy how things change, i think my dad bought this house for about £18,000 and homes up north was getting sold for £1!!

A house is only worth what someone will pay for it. Living where I do, houses are costing a hell of a lot. Flats are so expensive too. The youngsters here are really struggling to move out and get their own places.

Guess I was lucky in a way that I lived in this area all my life and managed to get on the property ladder when things were tough and saw it through. Many a neighbour handed their keys in back then.

I love where I live as I am so close to the city but also right close to countryside too. When the kids are all settled and left home I will be looking to move southwest. The traffic and stress of moving around even in the suburbs gets to you here.

This is one townie looking for a more peaceful life  

It must be awful for those who can't afford to get on the property ladder!
