hi the link on here for raw suppliers does not work so does anyone have any good companys they use ? Im in Essex uk so if anyone knows of any around me id be grateful.. im not looking for ready made slushy minces though as they are more expensive and takes the challenge of her eating more naturally away ..many thanks

hi Saz im finding the bone contents on a lot of these raw suppliers really high how do you combat that ? also it seems to be a lot of mince rather then chunky meat for the dog to chew a bit , i know they dont need to chew for eating but it just helps with stimulation and teeth . the costs varies a lot too this company http://www.thedogfoodcompany.co.uk/index.html   seem to be the cheapest so far have you had any dealings with them  .. looking into this raw is harder then kibble ..i wnat a good suppler at a good price but making sure i get the ratio esp bone correct  confused confused confused   oh i did ring my vet for advice but due to the kibble they sell for they cannot give any advice !! i wasn't to pleased with them as im at that vet for good advice not based on where its money comes from !

Ledger mostly has mince of various types in regards to bone content you get to know if they are getting too much/little by the poop

2-3 times a week he has frozen salmon portions, chicken quarters or heart chunks and if he has the mince with tripe content he has a smaller portion than I'd give say a meaty mince and he has an extra duck wing but Even the mince stuffed hooves give them something to chew on

I tend to feed Daisy mince with no bone and then she has her bones whole to get full teeth benefits  Smile so example meals would be tripe mince with a goat rib or beef mince with a chicken wing  Smile then I buy the mince with bone in for days when she's at my mums because it's easier  Smile

We buy from DAF and when we phoned, they told us the minces are all about 10-20% bone which is what is recommended. We are happy with the quality and price of what they charge and have struggled to find anywhere else that supply what we want.

I make up packs for Bane which include as many different meats as I can fit and then he has a piece of meat with bone in for extra crunch and a more natural texture eg:
Breakfast: chicken, turkey or duck wing, drummer, thigh, neck or carcas piece/whole fish/pigs trotter, ears or snout/stuffed Beef trachea etc.
Dinner: Meat pack made up of chicken, fish, tripe, pork, lamb, beef, turkey and venison mince and liver/kidney/heart/brain/extra meat scraps. Maybe an egg.
If you are starting raw it is advisable to start with thinks like chicken wings and backs as the higher bone content helps with any possible runny bums Smile
