Flo is chipped and has a tag... She also has a tag that says she's chipped too (have I over done it ?). I'm sure you'll be fine for a few days.

In a public place all dogs need to wear an ID tag - you'll be fine as Saz said but get one asap Xx Even if micro-chipped they have to have a tag x

Yup by law they should have a tag (owner contact), I did have one on Ledgers ezydog harness as I don't have a collar on him when we go running

The only time we don't is at Agility and flyball many agility dogs seem to have the owner contact embroidered into their collars

yes it's a legal requirement and any responsible owner should make sure that their dog has one but really how many of us have ever been stopped by someone in authority and been checked?

Koda is microchipped but I always make sure he has a ID tag on in case he gets out or runs off, not everyone would make the effort to take him to a Vet to get him identified but they'd most likely give us a call if he was wearing a tag. Smile

I`ve never had a I.D tag on snoop or Lula, snoop never wore a collar full stop. Miss Lula does wear a collar in the day but it has no tag on it. I guess i better get one if they are suppose to have them

Bacchus has an ID tag and is micro-chipped. Apart from the legislation it was a requirement at our training classes for his K.C. Good Citizen awards.

Spot on as if somone steals the dog it make it a whole lot easier to shift on if they have the name.

Definitely get a new tag as its law. You must have your surname, house name or number & postcode. I have put my mobile number on Katy's tag as Bek said your more likely to get a call than wait for someone to get them scanned at the vets  Smile

It is a legal requirement that your dog wears a collar with an ID tag when out for walks or in a public place, however many people do seem to ignore this part of the law.

Dog identification tags

Control of Dogs Order 1992

Every dog while on a public highway or place of public resort must wear a collar with the name and address of the owner inscribed on it or a plate or badge attached to it.
