Scary walk.
Debo is good with his recall so when is safe to do so I let him off the lead. We were walking on the country said this morning with few houses around, some without fances. All of the with dogs tied up to the kennel on the long chain. Debo left behind busy sniffing something when I saw very big dog running towards us, I turned around to put DEbo on the lead and then I saw the dog charged at DEbo, teeth showing, proper angry, agressive dog. The thing that scared me the most were his eyes , I've never seen eyes like that, it was poor madness. I wasn't quick enough to put the lead back on and with the dog so close to Debo didn't want to risk it. I was really affraid at that point because knowing Debo is very confident, sometimes in a cocky way. And he never let any dog to dominate him.
I've called Debo and he gave me quick look"I can't come now mummy". Is it possible that he sensed he doesn't stand a chance with that dog? I could see that he's trying to make everything right to show the other dog that he's not gonna do any harm. He positioned his body sideway, head down, not looking. The other dog was opposite. And when Debo made one step, the dog did two to be as closed as possible. I've never seen Debo like that, he's always in charge.
I kept calling Debo, at the same time grabed a massive rock. The dog even looked me. Finally Debo really slowly, picked the right moment to come to me. The dog turn around and left. I tried to stay as calm as I could
And I was so happy that I gave all the treats from my pocket to Debo.

Re: Scary walk.
Understanding to be scared but well done Debo. It could have been real nasty if Debo had retaliated. Hope you're both ok x

Re: Scary walk.
Thank you. I might have looked calm but I felt like my heart wants to jumped out. Oh and the tasty treats, now I have one smelly dog in the house, I think it's his way of saying thank you

Its the hardest thing to do to stay calm - when Moo got attacked the panic and worry I had where immense but you just have to try and stay calm otherwise it makes things escalate Xx

Re: Scary walk.
I need to say, when we decided that my OH is going away for few months, I was affraid that I won't be able to control DEbo. I forgot that it was me who trained Debo. Beign alone makes me more confidente.
