Anyone own

An older girl ( mines 4 yrs old next week ) with a boy pup ( mines 8 weeks ) ?

If so how do they get on ? Do you crate them or separate them at night, and when your out ?

Guess it's early days for us, so any info would be so appreciated

my xena is nearly 9 my sam is 6 they get on fine sometime sam try to push my xena out of the way i tell him off striaght away.

but i dont crate my dogs they sleep in the same bed so it may be different to t yours.

Thanks for that, just worried they will never get on right.... i so want them to be friends.

male and female normaly get on fine it when you have 2 female or 2 male you sometime have problems.

My girl was 3 when I got my boy she was so good with him showed him the ropes they are never seperated and sleep together but she was neutered just as he came

i used to have two females and two males, they all got on with each when i was around as a pack, but when i wasn't around i would have to separate them from each other.

Ive got a 10yr girly and 7mth boy they get on fine, unless,like steve said male pushes female, I too just tell Zero off if im not quick enough to see Mazda tells him herself but I try get there first as she's not as nice as me about it
They are seperate when Im out as it gives my old girl a bit of space from him (and hes destructive so crated) but theres a huge 9yrs+ between them.

But genrally I dont have problems

Having a problem typing at the minute cos Blake has decided he likes the taste of my macbook !!!!

Things aren't bad to be fair.. Chloe is keeping out the road, she's STILL in bed lol. We had a couple of growls out of her last night when he went near her, just a growl to tell him to leave her alone. He slept all night in the crate ... phew, screamed place down first night....

I would prefer not to crate him if possible, just for initial training and settling. Chloe has never been crated in her life ( which is why she sleeps in bed ), and I think it unfair to crate him while Chloe has run. Hopefully things will sort out and all will be well, but if he chews he will be crated.

Will be getting them both desexed for reasons obvious lol..

I'd leave the crate there for him, though, when he's older as he'll have made it his 'den' by then.

I'm hoping I can get him to use a bed, which will be put in the crate when he's about 6 months.... Hopefully then its just a case of moving him and his bed out of the crate..... Well heres hoping
