Hi and welcome to the forum from Flo and me.
I'm not a nutritionist so really not sure what to advise here. How old is he ?... Have you asked a vet about this and made sure there is no underlying issue ?

Re: help
Could just be an age thing my parents springer/collie x is 16 and has been loosing weight gradually for a couple of years
Most of this is down to appetite her sense of smell is now pretty non existent which probably doesn't help whereas 6 months ago she was happy to have her tinned food (at a point where quality brand foods aren't an issue just whatever she would eat and the cheaper and stinkier seemed to be it) last week she stopped eating that too but did pinch some of Ledgers raw mince (he backs right off if she approaches him when he's eating) so I took some of that over for my dad and she wolfed it down apparently and also made her way through a tripe stick.
She is still mad as a box of frogs as ever and despite having had 3 big strokes she has to be the centre of attention and never stops pacing between people if she's in the same room, of course she's slow on walks and is falling over more and more but that's understandable she has such a thick coat her weight loss isn't so obvious but I expect with a short coated staffy it would look quite severe.
I would echo the suggestion to visit your vet just to see if there is anything underlying causing the weight loss they will likely suggest some foods

Re: help
Hello and a warm welcome from me and Stella
I suggest you get him checked over with your vet just in case. My Stella is 13 and sometimes does not want to go out. I have to really encourage her sometimes but it's for her own good that she has a little exercise every day.
She has no food issues except for being greedy at times.
Any weight loss should really be checked out with your vet.

Re: help
Hi and welcome from us and Suki. I would suggest a trip to the vet because weight loss in an older dog is less common than weight gain. If he isn't wanting to walk you could try adding extra walks and keeping them shorter while using a high value treat to encourage him.

Re: help
Go to vet. Insist on appointment.
Exactly what food is your dog on?
Raw or cooked eggs can help build dog up. I would go for as natural food as possible. Chicken sardines all of that will do him good.
But insist on appointment with vet.

Re: help
Years ago, I had a Doberman rescue. I got her from a house and she was clearly unwanted. She was very thin and you could count the bones in her backbone. He came out with some guff about her being in use and had been stressed out. I took her to the vet and he confirmed my suspicion that she had been abused. He advised me to feed her on boiled brown rice and chicken, which I did. Boy did she put on weight! 2 weeks later she was a different dog! You could try this.

Re: help
welcome to the forums from me and Lula
As snoop got older a potter around the garden was all he wanted. The rest of the day was spent sleeping he would have his mad dashing moments but sleeping mainly. they do sleep alot more as they get older or if they are a bit lazy like my Lula
Best thing to do would be to pop to the vets. If your vets does not have an appointment book in somewhere else. If its the PDSA they have an out of hours one
