Can someone please recommend a good insurer? The vets have suggested petplan but I suspect they are on commission to do so and I looked at them and it would cost me more than I pay to insure the house! I have looked on go compare and come back with argos for around £15 a month on their platinum policy but thought I'd ask for suggestions before signing up. I need whole of life cover, I've found most only cover for a year which can be a pain with ongoing long term conditions. Also if anyone knows of an insurer who actually covers existing injuries or conditions that would be fab as the vet has said he may suffer arthritis as a result of his leg injury in later life. I know he may well do anyway but the vet did say that most insurers will not pay out for anything to do with that leg now he has injured it.

Not many insurers will pay out for a pre existing condition.

We insured Rocky with Argos Pet Insurance on the life time Platinum cover, we made a claim last year for which they paid out within a week of them recieving the claim form. I thought this was quite good however they did want to up the premium for the next year by about 25% which is a bit steep. Needless to say we then went elsewhere (More Than)

No insurers will cover pre existing conditions - I learnt the hard way as Moo has arthritis and I didn't have life time cover so even with my existing insurance she isn't covered. Thats where insurance gets you. Almost all insurers cover for a lifetime - but they will have a limit that they pay out per condition. I am with animal Friends and would recommend them x
