trashed carpet
As the headline stated nel has over the pass year slowly but methodically worked her magic on my hall carpet to the point now where it needs replacing. I have waited a year to do this as she now knows that her bones/toys are for chewing not the carpet and she leaves it alone but was wondering if putting laminate flooring down was the answer if it's put down currently is its staffy proof

Re: trashed carpet
Unless they are trained not to chew anything, nothing is staffy proof, my first pup chewed up the laminate kitchen floor! Moo has never chewed anything - your choice really XX

Re: trashed carpet
My first Staff had a liking for skirting boards
Flo doesn't chew anything except toys so our wood floor is still intact.

Re: trashed carpet
my laminate is intact but the stair carpets are done for, i think it must be where it is in the chewable scale. def easier to clean though.

Re: trashed carpet
That's what I was thinking I mean she chews her to us to death killed the carpet when she broke free of her cage one day when I went out to work and head butted my front room door off its hinges. Since then she just chews toys and my fingers if she gets over excited with her belly rubs so I thought get the carpet up have laminate fitted properly easier to clean and better for her feet

Re: trashed carpet
laminate is not staffy proof as the missing piece in my hall can tell but i planned to replace it anyway. she seems to be over the chewing floors/walls stage now i hope so ill be devestated if she do it to the new floor do you think she will chew wooden floor? im considering it

Re: trashed carpet
Maybe laminate is tougher, but a proper wood floor picks up a lot of grooves from Douglas's claws, especially where he does a handbrake turn on his way to the kitchen.

Re: trashed carpet
Nel don't so much handbrake turn a just hit what she is aiming for never known a dog like it tried to teach her to brake but she don't get it. God only knows what will happen when I put the laminate floor down

Re: trashed carpet
Lol!! She sounds like trouble I've got laminate and Biscuit isn't a chewer but also has no brakes, so on laminate she just skids and falls over a LOT! Lots of scratch marks on the floor, but much easier to clean than carpet!

Re: trashed carpet
It will scratch alot and not staffy proof. If she is a chewer try putting Bitter Apple on the things you don't want chewed. Suki was a chewer but the Bitter Apple solved the problem
