Looks like a good little camera, this one doesn't have a viewfinder though, depends whats important for you - I always like my cameras to have one, it's just personal to me. Samsung are a good make I would always advize anyone thinking of buying a camera on line to go in a shop and just see how it feels to you, not all cameras suit everyone. I tried the Nikon and then a Canon and the Nikon felt better to me straightaway.

Remote Viewfinder lets you control your camera using a smartphone, perfect for framing yourself in shots. A great range picture and video filters also let you add special effects to your images.

^^ is this an different viewfinder or something else??

Your camera is far more stable when you hold it up to your eye rather than just looking at the rear screen to compose your shot. Your image would be taken sharper/more in focus when using the viewfinder.

Your arms are in a more stable position when being held to your eye. You can see the image more clearly in the viewfinder than on the screen, taking into account the brightness of the sun glaring on the screen.

A viewfinder is where you look into a small aperture (Window) at the back of the camera and the system used are either pentamirrors (modern DSLR's - Digitial Single Lens Reflex) or a pentaprism (usually older SLR cameras) . Basically, when you look through a viewfinder, you are looking through the lens. This is what the resulting picture will look like as you frame it. Cameras without viewfinders usually have a screen on the back that you use to frame your picture. The single biggest disadvantage with this is that when it's sunny, you sometimes cannot see anything (like trying to look at your smartphone screen in sunlight?). Cameras with a viewfinder have the big advantage that the sunlight will not detract from you framing a shot. I've had cameras for years, my current set up is a Nikon D5000, and multiple lenses. Expensive initially but pays for itself as it's so robust.

Saz, take a look at this camera.  More expensive, I know, but if you look at the back view, you will see it has both a screen and a viewfinder (at the top) where you look through to frame your shot.  Very versatile, I had an earlier version which got nicked whilst I was in Canada   Sad
