Recent ROXY pics :) June 2011 *pic heavy*
Roxy and I had a lovely morning out, strolling along the South Perth foresfore. I'm not usually one for heading into the city, but we were away from the hustle bustle, the weather was lovely and the surroundings were great too.
They have specific areas allocated for dog walking/exercize which gets two thumbs up from me
As always I HAD to get some happy snaps and thought i'd share them with you all.
The sign which tells you what is allowed in the area
Roxy made friends with a one year old rescue dog named Tonka ( kelpie/ ? mix) and they had a great time
Some pics of the view and surroundings
Roxy saw her first ever Black Swan.........hmmmmm, Mum these are a lot bigger than the birds I normally see, i'm not so sure of these ??? Woof-woof-woof
And some more scenery with black swans

Great pics, Roxy looks like she had a ball
We might head over there for a look one day, how early in the morning were you there as there doesn't seem to be many other people about.

I s'pose it would've been about 9.30am when we got there. Saw a few other dogs but it was'nt busy.

Thanks Lisa, might have to drag someone else's tail out of bed on Monday morning if it's a nice day.
I just went on the City of South Perth and downloaded the map and lo and behold I'd saved it already at the end of Dec last year.

Most places are fine to walk your dogs . Some parks and beaches etc... do have signs stating "No dogs allowed" or "Dogs must be on a leash at all times". It's just nice to have specific areas (parks and beaches) allocated to dog exercize so you can meet other doggies for socialisation skills etc.... and like-minded owners. They also supply "doggie poop bags" near the bins to clean up any messes.

Thanks for the info, especially re the caffeine hit
I wonder if they'd be open Mon being a public holiday, if Izzy is fully recovered by tomorrow arvo & I get off work by 2pm, we might go and have a look.

It's great to have areas where you can walk your dog off lead, however I am always a little nervous when other dogs appear to be running in packs and the owners are too busy socialising to take notice of what their dogs are doing.
Various councils and shires have designated areas that allow off lead walking, most in our area are not within walking distance, so we have to drive there first and then head off for a walk. I have been to a few new ones lately and some I'd return and others I wouldn't.
