how much attention is too much!!
hmm ok!! so loki is a very cuddly puppy, he wants to be on my lap all the time, im fine with givibg him attention, but he gets funny when the cat comes near me starts barking and trying to pounce on the cat, he doesnt do it with humans, just eith animals coming near me, is it because I give him too much attention? and I let him have cuddles, (not all the time) its only when I say he can.
he loves everyone, and I dont wanna shun him, but I dont want him to get overly funny!! hes only like it over me. if the cat sits with liam its fine, or eli, but not with me.

Re: how much attention is too much!!
It is so easy to cuddle them, personally I never did too much with Vin as didn't want him to rely on me too much. Just so when I have to leave for work and things he is happy being on his own

I don't know the answer to that and it probably is different for all dogs but I definitely think you can give them too much. You don't want him to become too reliant on you being there as it could lead to seperation anxiety.

I have to say Darcy is my baby lol! What she says goes but she likes her own space, and can be left alone. I never stopped affection but I've no other pets and my kids are 13&21. Teach him to be alone as well as snuggles and he'll be fine xx

Re: how much attention is too much!!
You definitely want to encourage confidence and independence, Biscuit is currently lying out in the garden on her own sunbathing! She'll come and check where I am if I were to go upstairs for example, but generally although she LOVES to cuddle she's also very confident to be by herself and doesn't get stressed when I go out to work etc. Over loving a dog will ruin them!

Re: how much attention is too much!!
Have you tried any basic training with Loki ? This may help to build his confidence and trust in you. He is still quite young so keep any training sessions to about 5 minutes and always end with something you know he can do well.
Hide and seek games are always fun too, try hiding some small treats about the home, old egg boxes are great for this or any old items of clothing you may have just roll a treat up inside them and let Loki find them on his own. This way you can fuss Loki for doing something independ of you.
If he takes himself off let him go as he probably just wants some time alone. Make sure you fuss the cat too this way Loki will not get jealous.
