Love the theater - great show you're going to!
Got a load of work on this week but also trying to get back into my gym routine, keeping the pups busy and today I want to try and make brownies. I also have this friend I keep talking about who is making some stupid decisions and I'm not sure how to deal with her, so need to spend some time on that!

Steve wrote:what your friend upto lisa? xx
she's a strange one lately - she's 37, not had many boyfriends and now has found a guy who is clearly stringing her along but she can't see it. He moved to Cape Town and she has invited herself to go and live with him even though he's never invited her and he hardly comes to Johannesburg to see her. He also hardly phones her. She has a nice life here, lots of interests, a nice place, good job and is very close to her family but she's chucking it all in to go to him. It's one of those things we can all see will never work.
When she was at my house the other day she sat here saying "it's time for new friends anyway so I'm going" - very insulting I'm not sure whether or not to go to her farewell. The whole thing is just upsetting. Her parents and brother and sister are heartbroken but she can't see the big mistake.

Re: anybody got any plans for the week?
It really is a hard one - I know her family have tried saying something but she just isn't hearing people out.
Yeah, the OH and I looked at each other as if to say "Who's going to throw her out first for saying that!" And on Facebook the other day she posted that she was checking out her new friends. Makes me sad.
I can't believe she is packing in a good job and going to nothing when it's so hard to find one. I was trying to help her with the freelance thing like I do, but she wasn't listening.

I'm thinking so too. I'll feel really bad if it all goes wrong and she comes back to Johannesburg, but on the other hand, she doesn't seem to feel bad telling people she needs new friends

i know what you saying lisa it's an hard one becasue you care about her and bet she care about you also but she acting like an fool! have you done or said anything to her?
Re: anybody got any plans for the week?
I have certainly tried to - but she's just not listening - she's convinced herself that this guy is right (he spends more time on FB than talking to her!) and that the move is the thing to do.
Oh, well, I'll have to see how it all plays out. My heart breaks for her parents who she's very close to and they can't afford to go and visit her and she won't be able to afford to come and see them.

It can indeed but alarm bells ringing at a possible controlling bloke, doesnt really want her but wont want anyone else to either and will plant subtle seeds so she cuts ties with friends and family

Very true! Or, what I think, he has not guts to tell her he really isn't that interested.
