what a day Empty what a day

Hi all, I know I've been quiet today! I've discovered where my furkids don't suffer from separation anxiety or hating change of routine - I sure do:

My morning normally starts with cuddles in bed with them but today we had to be up and out by 6:30 as it's voting day and we wanted to be early - their little faces when we left... more my face I think  Blushing

We had a two hour wait in the voting queue but when we got back we took them to the park - it was really busy and every dog was off lead so we had a shorter, but seriously fast paced walk. Got home and chilled with them.

A friend came over (she'd invited herself and long story short she is in a situation that as a friend you don't like but can't say anything!). OH and I were kind of dreading the visit. I think the doggits picked up on this?? This friend isn't the biggest dog fan so I keep them away from here but thought we would sit outside today and I'd got them each a gourmet bone to keep them busy.

Now...the friend is extremely high pitched, loud and exciteable and talks with her hands! So obviously this excites Rox and Vin. She ignores them which is fine but Roxy was so persistent today and just wouldn't calm down wanting to say hello. Eventually she chilled next to me until the friend shrieked with laughter and Rox was set off again.

Soo, I then started with time outs, putting them inside for a bit and then letting them out again. Rox then took interest in her bone. We then moved inside as it was getting cold and I closed off the baby gate... unimpressed Roxy! Her daddy went outside and had a really good play and tug etc and he said Rox just seemed so angry and not being part of the family as she always is. Needless to say we were happy to have our guest leave eventually.

Is it so wrong to be a little upset! Yes, Rox needed to calm down but I just feel like they're my furkids, love me...love them or don't visit  Laughing

To top it off my big girl who always loved sleeping in my arms has been wanting space lately so she takes herself off to the sofa at bed time...I miss her  Blushing  So yes, an anxious mum tonight!

Not wrong at all love, they're your children! End of, if my friend didn't like my children I'd tell them don't bother coming because your being here upsets them! Maybe rox is still feeling a little sensitive and making you pay for it Sad xx

Awww bless Lisa our babies do get in their little routines don't they. My Dad sounds the same as your friend in that he always seem to talk with his hands and talk loudly too.

Thankfully (in a way) Mum & Dad don't visit us that often so it isn't something we get too stressed about but I'm sure Rocky knows that when they are here I will be stressed all the time until they leave.

We are in our own routine during the week and any change can upset the boat a little.

Sending big hugs your way Lisa for all of you  what a day 3198918699 what a day 3198918699 what a day 3198918699

Thank you ladies  what a day 3198918699 On the "bright" side this friend is moving to another city shortly (part of the big mistake one can't say as a friend) so I will see her at her farewell and it will be a long time before she comes over again.

I'm going out just for a couple of hours this morning to take my mum out, which I do on a Thursday and the dogs are used to, so Rox and Vin will have a good sleep and recover, I think! xx
