That's a great little buy there Steve, a bridge camera is a good option if you are interested in photography but don't have oodles of cash to splash about. You can't go wrong with a Fuji they are a very good make.
I started off with a bridge camera then stepped up to a Nikon D60 then hubby treated me to a Nikon D700 a few years ago.
I wouldn't bother with a camera phone with a high Mega Pixel number, the tiny camera sensor in the phone cannot handle it and it will not give a very good quality shot when printed off. You are better off going for something like the bridge camera above or a very good quality compact camera like this one that has a Leica lens:

Re: cameras
Do you have a Currys store near you Steve ? if so go in and have a play with both types of camera. This way you will know which one feels right for you. The benefit of the compact is it's size, you can just pop it into your pocket and off you go. The bridge camera will feel more like an SLR in that it will have a viewfinder and be slightly heavier than the compact. I would advise a shop visit to try them both out first.

Re: cameras
Personally wouldn't go for that fuji as it has no viewfinder. Off to do dinner now, hubby is having a look at some on line now for you, will let you know later.

Re: cameras
A viewfinder is something you really get used to using with an SLR camera, most compacts don't have them, it depends what you are used to and what you are going to be using the camera for.
Pop into Currys and have a look at some and get a feel for which one feels right for you.
