Awful week for us (sorry a bit graphic and long)
The good news is Harry went back to Vets on Monday to have his eye checked under sedation and it has healed up.
The bad news is that when I picked him up he didn't seem at all himself, I got no greeting from him or anything.
Put this down to still being under the influence of the sedative, but when we got home he cried the rest of the
evening and all night in bed. Next day he whimpered all day until about 5pm when severe runs started. Once
this happened he seemed more himself. This
went on all evening and every 2 hours during the night. Wednesday it was pure liquid coming out of him and he
wasn't even aware it was happening, he had no control over it.
I phoned the Vets for advise early morning and explained what was happening, but they didn't call back. Rang
again about 6pm and they said the Vet was in a Consultation and would probably ring me back next morning.
When I pushed to speak to them they said to come in at 8.30pm and see the night Vet. He was very good
and gave me antibiotics, (metranadazole) and some of the paste stuff to give Harry twice a day and asked me
to feed him. He then told me that Harry had probably picked up a Virus that other dogs in the Vets had when
Harry was staying in there with his eye problem Been giving him, chicken breast and rice and white fish, sometimes scrambled egg.
Yesterday he slept all day, the runs virtually stopped. He also slept all night. This morning he had scrambled
egg and has had a few 'accidents' without being able to control it which is distressing him. Also his poor
bum is so sore where he is scooting. I am washing and keeping him clean and putting sudocream on his bum.
He now seems so sad and depressed and won't get out of his basket.
I'm at wits end worrying and don't know what more I can do. If you have experienced this with your dogs and
can offer me any advice please let me know, I would appreciate hearing any experiences of this.

So sorry to hear that Harry isn't at all well Makes you wonder if the Vet knew about the bug in the clinic and if others have suffered the same !
I think your doing just about all you can with the soreness, we have a similar issue with Flo but just keep the base of her tail clean and discourage her from nipping at it, though it does bother her at times.
Hope he bounces back soon Lizzie.
