Re: el perro
I've heard really great reviews and I know some who use them and love them and maybe once Darcy has finished growing I'll get her one. ATM I'm using a xtradog one that we love it's soft and comfy, no rubbing

Re: el perro
Her fur had rubbed away on her underbelly were her leather harness has chaffed so i stopped putting it on her and started just using her collar but that has done the same so i think im going to go for the fleeced lined collar and harness quite expensive but shes worth it

Re: el perro
We brought the collar and lead recently for our 7 month old boy. Had it embroidered also with his name so looks really smart. Still pulls a little when greeting people we pass however he isn't choking and my hands are not chafing as lined with fleece.
I would definitely recommend

defiantly?
My dog doesnt have the el Perro harness, but i wouldnt be in a rush to go out and get one:
1) It's incredibly expensive.
2) It's said to be made of polypropylene. 'All EL PERRO products are made from 100% Polypropylene, a material much stronger and more durable than the average Nylon products you’ll find in pet shops today and guaranteed to last longer'. Er, no, I dont think so. Polypropylene webbing is softer than nylon but has reduced breaking strength and is not especially good for wear quality. Polypropylene also breaks down in sunlight. It's not an especially expensive material - I use polypropylene mooring ropes on my boat because they float, meaning that they stay on the surface and cant get wrapped round the propeller when it's turning. So maybe polypropylene is a good idea if your dog cant swim.....
3) Douglas's current harness is made by Ancol and cost about a tenner at the local independent pet-shop. It has sturdy black nylon webbing, backed with padding, and does not cause chafe. It has two lines of reflective thread running through it. So while, he may need to swim unaided if he accidentally lands in the drink, at least he will be picked out by car lights in the dark (more likely) when out for walkies.
None of the above refers to collars. Thinking about reducing chafe, it stands to reason that a harness will be more comfortable than a collar as it spreads the load across a larger body surface. Not only that, the ribcage beneath helps prevent damage to the key organs. So if you have to take rapid and firm control of your dog because of any emergency that must be avoided (eg, cat, car, feral child) then you know the ribcage can take the strain. Unlike the neck, where the throat and oesophagus are not so protected. To be considered: not just the chafe on the surface, but the safety of the bits underneath.

Re: el perro
only ever heard good things about them but like yeahbut i use ancol for collars as they are also a good brand. but it has to be said i never clip to it unless on a halti (very rare) as i use the Julius K9 harnesses for general walking and had the bikejoring harnesses custome made with fleece lining.
all the other harnesses ive used have also rubbed as they are both pullers and the K9 harness has been brilliant with not a mark or rub on either dog.
