Hi from us!
Hi folks.
Great forum you've got here! full of information.
I am a soon to be new staffy owner who has a bit of a quandry about the puppy I have bought and am picking up on Saturday. The story behind the dog is the lady is selling it for her friend who has moved into apartments with no pets allowed, They already have a staffy 'type' dog which she said is a staffy x bullmastiff (see pics. It is 9 months old and not past knee height for me but quite chunky! The puppy is NOT related to their dog they said.
There is no KC paperwork with the puppy and basically, I am now convinced after researching heavily that the puppy (4 months old) may well be a staffy x.

I am wanting to see what your expert opinions are about my new pup! I fully now expect him to be crossed with something, it just depends on what that may be.. Looking for guidance and ideas on this!!! Thanks

Hi and Welcome from Flo and me
It really is notoriously hard to guess what the cross, if any, might be at that age. However, what an uber cute pup.

Re: Hi from us!
HI sasha and stella!
Thanks for the reply stella and nice comments.
The lady who Im buying him off says he is a full staffy as far as she knows and that is what he was bought as! Clearly this may not be the case but as you say because he is young I have no idea and am a bit concerned about if he will grow lots bigger than I was expecting!!! Hopefully not. He is a real beaut so Ive got to have him!

Re: Hi from us!
Thanks for all the nice comments guys. I cant wait to pick him up and will post a few more pics once he is home.
It seems like it is best if I just enjoy owning him and see if he turns out as expected!!! Maybe I am being overly paranoid (I often am...!)

Re: Hi from us!
Although I have owned a few dogs in the past and one (who sadly died recently of old age/illness) I have had rescue dogs before and would again but for the fact I've got a 2 year old and want him to be a bit older first.
To that end this is the youngest dog I have owned, he seemed like a stick of dynamite when we went to see him!! nipping and flying all over us and the settees (bearing mind there were three new people there for him). Has anyone got any sage advice for our first few days and nights with him?!!!
Getting excited about picking him up tomorrow!

Re: Hi from us!
thanks for all the welcomes folks.
We now have Jasper home. He is hard work!!!
I am already working on getting him more obedient, but he is almost like an explosion of energy and love!! Having had an old dog who we lost recently, this is taking some adjusting to (trying to jump on and over EVERYTHING ) but I am trying not to panic.... aaaahhhh
I have looked at many articles on preventing nipping and jumping up, so I am going to work hard to curb that.

Re: Hi from us!
A couple more pics of our little fella
Had several doggy type friends who have come today who all think he just looks like a staffy, (or staffy x lab?!) which has made me more relaxed!
He is a very loving dog, and has now started to calm down a bit and settle in. He's currently asleep on the settee next to me

Re: Hi from us!
Cheers Warren.
Well, I took him to the vets today to be chipped and innoculated. The vet says he is not a (pure) staffy (no surprise there) , but said he was a staffy x he thought. Quite possibly staffy x whippet (and maybe something else!). Judging by how fast he runs and how high he jumps (higher than the kitchen counter top vertically!) I would say it may be kangaroo!!
