Second poo of the day
Just want your views please.
So my daily routine is get up at 6 in the morning to feed bruce
Then about 7 i take him for a 10 min walk were he has his first poop of the day
Perfect stool
But when i take him out again the second stool is allways sloppy, mushy and a light brown coulor
He his eating well, still bouncing around. Gaining weight fine.
I got vets on tuesday for full health check.
So i will let the vet no about this.
I also feed him a 6 at night
Any help
Thanks

Re: Second poo of the day
This is pretty much the exact issue we have been having over the past couple of weeks and can't figure it out. His first of the morning is as it should be but then he'll either go two to three more times on his morning walk or later in the day and it just gets looser. We have tried different foods, been to the vet, tried switching up exercise times and feeding times, fed smaller amounts, wormed recently... Nothing seems to be working. Let me know if you solve it or your vet gives you any advice I haven't tried.

Re: Second poo of the day
I have seen this in kennel dogs often and one theory was that exercise can cause digestion to speed up which causes the loose stool. Have a clients dog who does this too. Loose doesn't always mean "bad" it depends if you mean watery or soft. I've only ever seen it in dogs fed dry food however. Do you ever feed any bone?

Re: Second poo of the day
I give him a raw bone once a week.
Still the same
White crusty stool in the morning.
Then sloppy the second time round.
Just a thought but we have just started getting warmer wheather and he has been drinking alot more could this have somet to do with it

Re: Second poo of the day
I had Moo on that for a bit (the chicken and Rice as she had a sensitive tum anyway) and it was exactly the same - from advice here (going back a few years) I switched her onto James Welbeloved but a fish diet and it stopped completely and her poo was solid, I changed to Fish4Dogs after that and again no problem at all, a lot of dogs are chicken intolerant - maybe try a fish based diet Xx

Re: Second poo of the day
Mine hasn't had any bones yet. He's been fed on Purina followed by Eukanuba, followed by James Wellbeloved. All the same. Tbh he seems to be on chicken and rice most of the time as we are trying to settle his stomach!

Chicken intolerance in dogs? Are you serious?! If that is true I wish I'd heard it sooner!

Re: Second poo of the day
My friends dog is intolerant to lamb, turkey and chicken. She feeds fish4dogs or James well beloved sensitive which is white fish too! Definitely could have something to do with it!

Re: Second poo of the day
in the week both mine will pooh twice and both hard but at the weekend with a more active routine they will completley empty there bowls of everything. pooh three, four and sometimes five is liquid.
over feeding can also cause a runny tum even if its the most suited diet. still get the advice of the vet though to rule out any problems.

Re: Second poo of the day
15kg would roughly last 5/6 weeks and cost about £50. worth shopping around. I use petmeds or chemistdirect.

Re: Second poo of the day
So went to the vet today for bruce's
Health check.
Everthing is fine. And his second poo of the day have sorted them self out.
While i was there they advised me to put him on adult food.
But i thought you should wait till 12 month
Any way he is nearly 8 month old.
And weighs 16 kg
And measures in at 16 inch to withers.
The vet said he has stoped growing.
Has any one else put there puppy on asult food at
That age.
When do staffys stop growing.
Thanks

Re: Second poo of the day
They say about 3 years till adult - upwards in the first and and outwards muscle after - as to adult food the brand you are using would have a recommended age on it.
