how do i stop pooing in crate?
nakita is a stubborn pup and house training is hard. but we are trying and progress is slow. the only thing is she poo's in her crate without letting us know she needs to go. she only goes in at night and when we go out. obviously we cant here her when out but at night we hear her cry for a wee so we let her out but she doesnt cry for anything else. i have to wash her bed every morning. i got told dogs wont mess in the place where they sleep, but someone must have forgot to tell nakita lol

is the crate in sections, does it have a bit where she goes to the loo, if so, you could try to remove it. we did that with billy and never soiled his cage again, but did do when there was a bit that he could wee/poo in,

In your picture there does appears to bit a little too much space from where her bed is location, you could buy a sectioner for the creat so you can block the empty space off.
In the monring is the mess fresh? you can usually tell by that whether its roughly an hour old so you can think to roughly what time she went so what time she needs to go out, in the night when she cries to go to the wee you could stay out with her and wait to see if she will go a poo.
I would definatly try the seperator though or fill the empty space with something un chewable. a piece of wood perhaps.

we crate trained blayde, i wasnt 2keen on it at 1st cuz i thort it was cruel but it was the best thing we did n i read it doesnt upset them cuz they look at it as ther den. anyway his was an oversized 1 n we trained him 2 do his mess on training pads. iv neva known tha they dont poo or wee wher they sleep but they dont usually do it where they eat. so if u cud use a crate seperator n put training pads on one side n her bed n food on the other. woteva u try i hope it works n good luck

Re: how do i stop pooing in crate?
Matty , do you fill his whole crate with bedding ?? you talk avbout a cage separator I have never seen one of these but we did use a smaller bed and leave paper in there. I see Rocky is 6 months old how often does he go through the night ??
When you started the crate training did he get out every 2 hours through the night and gradually extend it or did you just rely on him crying to let you know ??
Personally we would let Tommy and Tilly out every 2 hours and gradually increase it , when we got up to a clean crate plenty of praise (never punish an accident , just praise good behaviour) Then if this is successful the final step is to remove the paper area

When I crate trained , I put comfy blankets in 1 half and newspaper in the other so their is a clear boundary of comfort.
Try doing the same. Allow half n half. Most dogs won't mess on their 'bed' but will pee or poop on the paper in their crate..

Sorry to butt in but there are 2 other main factors here which you may not be aware of , exercise and diet

Tbh my 8 week pup was in a large size crate, straight away he gad half blankets, half paper and managed to figure it out, very rarely I'd have to wSh his bedding due to accidents.
