Need a little help
How often should I put his food bowl down --he seems to be nibbling all day long and pooping all day long ie should I put his food down 8 in morning -12----then 5-- his 8 weeks old we are winning the battle with his biting loll and sleeps well in crate ---had German shepards pups 20 years ago and I can't remember --thx great site stu

I would just leave it down for 10 minutes if he hasn't eaten it by then he is not hungry. I would never leave a food bowl down all day.

Pup should be fed 4 times a day at this age.
A rough guide is 5-6% of their body weight in food, split between 4 meals.

We fed Bane 4 times a day at that age. I think 7am, 12pm, 5pm and 9pm and then when he got to about 4 months reduced him to 3 meals and 6 months, 2 meals.
At a young age, they can bloat easily, so smaller frequent meals reduces this and also keeps their energy levels up throughout the day

From 8 wks til nearly 6 mths we've fed Koda twice a day, I put the food down for an hour then take it away if he doesn't eat it.
