Just Been in the Man Cave
And look what I've just finished!
BikeJoring rig is complete...wooot
Bit of nice and bendy PVC pipe sprayed black to hold the gangline away from the front wheel. Its lashed to the bike with cloth tape as it doesnt need any strength. The rope fixed to the bike is rated at 281kg so we whould be good there as i dont quite weigh that much . Each end of the rope is knotted and double backed onto itself and cable tied.
Its attached to the double gangline I orderd by a quick release clip so I'm not faffing about holding two dogs with one hand.
This one shows the rubber shock in the gangline to absorb the initial snatch when they take off.
Should get the special harnesses in the next week or so and for now I'm spending 5 mins each night walking them on the gangline to get them used to it. First night went terrible and turned into a giant knot but now they are starting to get there and we even had a little run on friday night with no hiccups.
So close now, cant wait to start training them with the bike

It didnt sell on ebay in the end as it didnt hit the reserve one of the watchers contacted me about 5 mins after it ended and offerd me £25 less than the reserve price so I took it. he picked it up last Saturday which is how I've been able to but the gangline etc.
I just know they will love it too but Im a little worried as the stop command doesnt always work lol.

Re: Just Been in the Man Cave
Lol thanks for all the best wishes. You sound as worried as I do !!! My ex wife and al my fiends want to see the first run.. im guessing they want a good laugh pmsl.
Ive been training marley for about 1 and half years on direction and laska is my brake and she responds real well to stop. Bloody nervous tbh as it alot harder than it looks and im antisipating alot of falls when they catch sight of deer etc.
Now they are both matured and have been given a clean bill of health by the vet its time to have some fun and work them hard. In anticipation ive fed them both up 2kg for the extra excercise. Have an action cam on order so expect to see all the grisly hd details soon lol.
My inspiration has been this guy, one of the best in europe

Re: Just Been in the Man Cave
Have helmet and gloves but must admit I am getting a bit worried now... its easy to underestimate how much power two dogs produce and especialy if they take off at a 45degree angle...im off the bike.... been training marley for about a year and a half now on directions and his leave it responce is now great. But well aware of the consequences of them going wild at prey. .. the thing thats driving me is that im sure they will love it and as laska looks more bully but can keep up with marley we will be flicking the middle finger to all the joring snobs who think its just a pure husky thing...me and the mutts will be out to prove bully power

Re: Just Been in the Man Cave
Well today was the day....and it was fantastic! by far one of the best things i've ever done with dogs. thrilling, 8 seconds into the vid you can see the deer run acroos our path so my brakes went of full for about 20 seconds lol. and its so so rewarding seeing all your hard work with the training pay off. Marley is a fantastic lead dog and even though it was his first time he hung onto every command and brought laska back on track a few times especially towards the end. proud of them both for being so good but he really did prove himself today. as you can tell i'm well chuffed...and still alive with nothing broken
here is the Vid, it was in HD but for whatever reason Youtube downscaled it so i will try and find a better format to upload with in future.
