Gabby's first day on Raw
So today was the big that Gabby changes over to raw.
She will be having approximately 700g of minced chicken and a chicken thigh or drumstick in the afternoon, her meals will be split into 3 meals a day, morning, afternoon and evening.
Her poo's will be monitored, and we will adjust her food weights accordingly.
Please please if you think we are doing something wrong, please don't hesitate to comment.
We will update her progress as we progress.
Thanks for all the useful info we have found on this excellent forum.
This picture is what was left in her bowl this morning

Re: Gabby's first day on Raw
Thank you Sazzle and Hayley.
Little update:
She is loving her new food, her first stool was a little runny yesterday, her stool today was hard and brown and a light tan colour almost a little white,I guess this is the bone content?
So,no sickness and no immediate signs of scratching.
We are so glad the change is going well so far.
She had her first chicken thigh yesterday, absolutely loved it,chewed it nicely, crunching on the bone and getting it into nice swallow able pieces,we left the skin on and was thinking maybe that was why her stool was runny, but after seeing her hard stool this morning we might just leave the skin on today.
Would like to say again how much this site has helped us with information.
Thank you
Gabby and family

Re: Gabby's first day on Raw
That all sounds normal, they can be a little loose when changing to raw and introducing new meats, just don't introduce anything new until they've been firm for a good few days. Most people introduce a new meat every 1/2 weeks

So glad that she is enjoying it! Runny poos are a norm to start with, but glad day 2 was better! You will find yourself constantly being on poop patrol to make sure everything is running smoothly
The only real side effect we found with Bane was very gooey eyes in the mornings as his body detoxed Good luck!

@Bane.
Haha yes,the girlfriend has always said I'm full of sh*t,and I talk enough of it,so I guess I'm already an expert on the subject.
I have noticed Gabby doesn't do as much poo'ing, now we have changed.
Will her urine not be as acidity now, will it be more grass friendly?

To start with Bane poo'd a lot less than on dry food, sometimes once every couple of days although he does seem to have increased again lately, sometimes 3 times in one morning! :O But they are all much much smaller, they barely smell and I can pick them up straight away and they are solid, no gooey squidgey mess! so gross discussing poo! haha
As for urine aciditiy...haha I wish there was a cure! Bane peed a yellow hole in our garden so we have put new seed down and blocked him off from the grass until it is fully grown. I have read that Apple Cider Vinegar can help, otherwise you just have to water the area they pee on after they have peed to try and dilute it. Bitches urine is worse than Dogs aswell I think... :/
