Update from advice I asked for...

So a couple of months ago (sorry it has been so long - busy with college) I posted that I was very anxious taking Dre a walk with other dogs around - this was on my own insecurities of not having my boyfriend around, which Dre was picking up and being very protective over me.
BUT since then my dad got two new puppies, a beagle and a chihuahua cross, and my confidence has risen so much from seeing Dre interact with them both! We take them all out on long walks, usually a Saturday, and Dre has not growled at a passing dog once!! I had been anxious at first when other dogs weren't on their leads so my dad had held Dre's lead and he was fantastic, he sniffed happily at the passing dogs and trodded on.
Since then I have walked him and passed dogs and he hasn't even batted an eye lid. I'm so happy that my confidence has risen and Dre can sense this from me - more for his benefit than mine.

Thank you all! I'm glad my confidence has came back, he really is a great natured dog and I love how other dog walkers can now see this .
