so are pit bulls banned in England but allowed in Ireland? I am confused.

I have never seen a dog on this list with a muzzle and have seen plenty off the lead.The rules are a lot more relaxed.Pitty it's not the same here.

Yes they are not banned here in Ireland. Alot of people think they are, they have restrictions = muzzled & leashed in public at all time. There's 10 other breeds on that list including Staffys,EBT'S, German Shepards,Dobys,Rotties,ridgebacks, few others. I've walked past many of these breeds not muzzled sometimes not even leashed. Not a word said to them, by wardens/garda. But if i was to walk boots with no muzzle i would be hounded! Last year we where at a orgnaized walk for Pitbulls & a friend had a 10wk old pup with him, warden & garda where there , and said he was to where a muzzle or he would be seized & fined!!!

Hey looks great but i have a question is it a pitbull or a am-staff or is there no difference?
Im always confused when it comes to am-staff and pitbull

Danny, the American Staffordshire Terrier and the American Pit Bull Terrier are basically the same breed. The AmStaff is the AKC version of the APBT, which is only registered in the UKC. The breeds are so similar that many dogs in America are dual registered as AmStaffs in the AKC and APBTs in the UKC.

Oke i tought a pitbull has a flat nose and a am-staff looks more like the esbt

That explains a lot! When one of our friends who moved to Dublin heard that we were getting a staffie, he was going on about how it was illegal/dangerous and would need muzzled etc. Here in Scotland, it's 'deed not breed' so I think that means you can get whatever dog you like, but even a chihuahua can be taken from you if it's vicious?
