Millie

Took millie to vet yesterday for weigh and advocat, vet didnt believe she was a full staffordshire, it got me a little worried she has papers and is kc reg, and can trace her line back a fair way. The vet also thinks she is very small for her age if she is a full stafford

Looks staff to me, but can be hard to tell. Also, although a vet will see a good few staffs, he wont be an expert on them or any breed. Unless he breeds on the sidelines or has staffs.
How old is she now?

Aww she is only 5 months, still loads of growing and filling out to do, I wouldn't worry Hun, especially if you have the papers xx

My friends one next to millie is very small for a staff. Millie is 5 months will be 6 months end of the month. she is kc reg and has all papers and stuff, i saw both parents.

i know its just every time ive been to the vets they always have something to say about her and how small she is

Sorry wasn't sure if your info was updated on age, as Sazzle says she has lots of growing & changing to do yet.

Was she the runt of the litter?

No she wasn't the runt is now bigger than millie lol x

Maybe she has a growth hormone problem?
To be honest they all grow at different rates, you will probably find she has a growth spurt. If she doesn't she will small and lovely, like myself!    

Silly vet (and not often do I say that!) There is no way way of knowing at that age how they will develop, to me, and she looks fab! Whilst she is young I would suggest a new vets TBH!

I really wouldn't worry at this age! They're all different shapes and sizes

She is a good looking dog to me! Growth rates are crazy over the first year. Never a constant curve. One ear this week, other ear next week.

Don't worry, be patient. They grow up in year 1 and then fill out in year 2-3.

In their prime at 3.

I am not sure vets always know as much about dogs as they say they do.

I sometimes wonder if it is us paranoid/over concerned Owners who pick up on a Vet's meaningless throw away comments and blow them into bigger issues.

However, surely Vet's should understand this and be careful what they say.

Aw she is gorgeous whether she is small or not! She is still so young and has plenty of growing to do!
How much does she weigh/how tall to the shoulder?
