This as no surprise for me, other than the RSPCA do not normally give the dogs in their care to others to home, the places in our local one is not big enough for dogs, I assume they are ding the home asesment them selves??

If rehoming policies are carried out in the same way that they would be at a rehoming centre I can understand how it would help to find homes with people that don't realise what the rescue situation is like. I'd say more cats get put to sleep than dogs in rescue due to overbreeding, but it still makes me stomach turn to think of these poor animals in a shop setting with no real stimulation or enrichment. Most centres are closing due to the stress of constant visitors on the animals, so I agree that this is definitely a huge step backwards.
