.. this is ridiculous...

Well on the very odd occasion when Winston is actually in his own bed outside. it looks like the first photo. Most times it looks like the second photo as he has kicked Jethro off his hessian frame bed.. and Jethro is at the back door on the mat.. and Winston's bed is empty. So we have had to get another hessian bed for Winston... now they are both happy. Spoilt git!! Meanwhile our back verandah is full of dog beds!!

... and I had one marrow bone in the freezer so I put it out on the lawn for Winston as Jethro was inside on the lounge asleep. Well Jethro decided he wanted to go out.. walked up to Winston chewing on the bone and barked and barked at him. Winston looked at him for a second.. then kept eating! Poor Jethro! So Tony got a saw and had to cut the bone in half... result... 2 happy doggies!! The things we do!!

The first time I gave Kita and her Bull Mastiff bro their own bones when she was young they had their one and only fight, "really vicious loud snapping and growling" at each other. Totally freaked me out and the bones went straight in the bin, while they were getting "if you are going to fight over them, then no-one is having one", I suddenly thought - am I talking to dogs or children.....?
Once I started buying them already in halves lengthwise with the marrow showing, I never had a problem.

Of course you have to have a house full of dog beds (and toys and.. stuff..)! And it's so cute how they take to eating bones in no time. Gummi does everything to steal Bajas' food (I feed raw, so all his food is yummy).. The poor pup still has to eat a few meals of kibble (it was free, after all), while the rest of 'em get juicy steaks for all their meals. (We always refer to their raw food as juicy steaks around here )
