Hi from a new staffy rescue owner.
Hi, I just wanted to say that as a proud owner of a wonderful Staffy (B.B) that we are totally in love with him We just got him today and he have been a total joy...He is our first staffy and we already totally adore him.
The only thing is he don't (can't) bark, which was why we were drawn to him in the first place. He only make this sore throat Whine. I was wondering if anyone know what could be the cause of this ,will his bark come back or if anyone else have had a similar thing happen with their dog.

Hi & welcome!
Poor fella, maybe he's been told off/hit for barking in the past so won't/can't bark now. Give him a little time & maybe he'll surprise you!

hi there. BB is a lucky doggie... he has found a good home. Maybe down the track he might surprise you, he could have been told off for barking previously.

Thanks for all your help with the bark question.
He has been making more sounds as the day go's on. Also he's begining to gain more confidence. So Bark or no Bark We don't mind as we love him as he is..xx

Re: Hi from a new staffy rescue owner.
Hello from me and Poppy
Right my staffy is a rescue dog, I've had her 4 weeks today. Poppy wouldnt bark at first at all, we thought wow.. Does she actually bark? So after about a week we heard her bark when she was playing with my other dog, since then she barks on a regular basis when she's playing, never at home really. So I'd say give him some time to settle down properly.
Good luck and well done for the rescue! x

Re: Hi from a new staffy rescue owner.
Hi and welcome to the forum - congratulations on your rescue!! I got my first staffy (my first very own one anyway we've always had them in the family) from a rescue on Friday! What a wonderful feeling it is - both to have a dog that you love and enjoy having but also knowing that you have given it a chance at a happy life that it may never have had. Look forward to hearing how you and BB get on! Mine is called Rhia and she is approx 9wks old and is doing very well so far...

Hi from Linda and B.B
Hello again would just like to update you on B.B. He has settled in so much over the past 5 days its like he's been with us for ever..
Not keen on the rabbits and you have to watch if he falls asleep on the sofa as he have a tendency to fall off..lol
Have shown no signs of trying to escape (the apparent reason he was put in the kennels for).
Still no bark but no messes as he makes you understand what he wants by running up to you then to the door.
He is a really good boy, everyone who's met him now all want a staffy. They said "They never new what lovely dogs staffys can be".
