What technique does your dog use to wake you up in the morning?
Rupert does it passively: he'll decide he has an itch that needs scratching - very loudly.

Suki will lay there quietly up until 7AM or so and normally someone is up by then. If not she will stand on my chest, lick my face, or simply bark until someone gets up.

Nothing as subtle as the scratching ploy I'm afraid.
Barking and running around the bed growling "breakfast, breakfast, breakfast"

Re: What technique does your dog use to wake you up in the morning?
I learnt the last 2 mornings that the hubby has been away that his method is barking from his crate at 5.00am - 30 minutes before I wake up. Not an issue usually as the hubby is up at 4.30am and lets him out to do his toilet business at that time then brings him back in

Darcy doesn't do anything until one of us is up, but then she enters all bedrooms to give the occupants a face wash

he jumps on me and licks me and crawls on me till I get up. He does it when he needs the loo and Im sleeping, I don't mind because I prefer him to wake me than have an accident in the house :-).

Roxy loves a lie in and to snuggle closer til one of us is ready to get up. Vinny will do the scratch, or he'll simply climb up and plop on me!

Biscuit isn't a morning girly, I'm usually up at 7 and she doesn't move until at least 9 when she's decided it's breakfast time. When I wasn't working from home she would get up for breakfast and a quick wee and then straight back to bed, couldn't even consider walking her in the mornings she's just sits on the doorstep shivering!

Ledger wakes between 8-9am and will creep up my body, he has located where to put pressure on my bladder but if I'm lay on my side and feeling particularly lazy he burys his nose under my ear and flicks my head up

Katy's not a early morning girl, she will lay there until she's forced to get up Which is good if I have the day off like today we layed in until 9am. When I'm working I have to go in to our room, lift her head off the bed to slide her collar under to put it on then pretend to be leaving without her so she gets up

Re: What technique does your dog use to wake you up in the morning?
Lula waits till she hears me downstairs then does a little whine. These is at 6;30am and i let her out of her crate. I have to make sure the living room door is shut or she wont go outside for a pee. Once she been out i open the living room door and she races into the living room jumps on the coach and does a mad wiggle thing. Then she settles down and goes back to sleep cuddled up next to me. Lula is really not a morning girlie
