Poo after raw feediing
Is it normal for my pup to have a bit of soft poo.. not watery but its not form as well..
Currently feeding him
raw pet lean meat ( kangaroo and lean meat) 3 x a day but on dinner time I add a chicken neck..
I prefer soft stool but form..
Hope to hear soon..

Re: Poo after raw feediing
I'd stick to just chicken for the first week or so until the poop settles down. Breasts, mince, wings, thighs, necks etc.

It can be soft when introducing a new meat, like Hayley says introduce one at a time and it will firm up x

Re: Poo after raw feediing
btw, guys he's only 9 weeks old.
when I got him from the breeder, they said that they are feeding them 3x pet mince and kibble available all the time.
Forgot to ask what kind of pet mince was that, If they are finely minced chicken?
The one Im feeding him at the moment is from a grocery store in the Pet Section that says Fresh Pet mince/chunk from roo and meat.
Should I stop this and just buy chicken mince and just continue with the necks?
He seems ok and still cheeky, just the poo is a bit soft than normal..
Btw heres what it says in the bag;
•Crude Protein - 18%
•Crude Fat - 1.5%
•Crude Fibre - 0.2%
•Salt (Sodium Chloride) - 0.1%
•Calcium - 0.2%
•Thiamine 1mg/kg

Re: Poo after raw feediing
When we started Bane, we did a week on chicken only, then added some turkey for a week, then some tripe for a week and this week just gone he has had fish. If the stools go soft after adding a new meat, leave that out for a day and then add it again the day after.
Is it possible for you to call the breeder and ask what meat the mince was?

Re: Poo after raw feediing
When I picked up Maddies chicken mince yesterday I was going to get some roo too. I decided against it as the person in the pet shop said it does go through them if they havent had it before (it is a rich meat). She recommended just to try chicken for now.
Maddie has been on just raw now for 2-3 days. She was eating beef mince (human stuff) and kibble before. 1st day we gave her just the beef and a chicken wing. She loved it. Her poos are not firm since leaving the kibble but I think they will improve. She is 4 months today and weighs 12kg.

Re: Poo after raw feediing
When starting raw its best to start on chicken then add another meat each week as long as the poos are solid

Re: Poo after raw feediing
As Sazzle said, red meats can be very rich so things like chicken and turkey are a better starting meat
