Opionions Please
Hi guys, my 10 month old Staffy Bitch, Lola, has started to get a very itchy back and she is starting to pull out her furr on her tail. There doesn't appear to be any reddness or scabs and her skin isn't dry at all. I don't know if she might be doing it because of bordem? The vet suggested flees or worms so i de-fleed and wormed her earlier this week but there has been no change and she is still very irratable. I know Staffs are prown to skin conditions and wonders if this could be the start of one...? HELP !! Dani.

Re: Opionions Please
it may take a while before it come back, get her some omega 3 or Cod Liver Oil may help her fur to grow back faster
Re: Opionions Please
It could just be nothing and go away with time, but I would be inclined to pop back to the vets it could be something more underlying like demodex, which is easily treated. x

Re: Opionions Please
Having a staff with skin problems myself I would defo go back to the vets to get it checked. Did the vet take and skin scrapes to check ??

I'd check again with the vet, but if he insists there's nothing wrong then try rubbing a little olive oil on the bits she's scratching, and adding some cod liver oil (a couple of teaspoons, a couple of times a week) to her food.
Is it just at the base of the tail?

Re: Opionions Please
It very much sounds like fleas and by scratching and biting herself she has irritated her skin this will take time to settle then a few days, the fleas love around the tail area and it really drives the dog nuts I would check regular to see its not re-infested
