Bad news....

My mother in law died on monday night....its bitter sweet really as she has been ill with dementia for 8 years and was at the stage where she litterally just sat in her chair and couldnt even remember how to move or talk and didnt no anyone. She had forgotten how to swallow so had not had any fluids for 5 days so it was a mixture of dehydration and her high blood sugars which we think was eventually the final cause of death.
The problem is that we go on holiday on friday down to cornwall for a week and the funeral is on wednesday so we are gonna have to drive all the way home for that and then go back again, a real pain but hey hoe.

On a different note the dogs are going to kennels tomorrow morning so i have just been down 2 wilkos and bought most of the toys they had in stock i bought 4 rubber balls 2 ropey things 4 squeaky things 4 soft toys 2 rings 2 rawhides and a load of treats, that should keep them busy for a few hours at least lol x

Oh, Carly, I'm so sorry to hear that. Dementia's such a terrible thing. I'm sure that her passing away is both a sorrow and a relief, to her as well. God bless, try to stay strong for your oh.

I think when they are suffering then its almost a blessing she is now at peace. Don't let it ruin your break, enjoy and have fun, even with a little extra driving. The dogs sound thourougly spoilt x

yea thanks everyone, like u all say its the best thing that could of happened really she had zero quality of life and its been very hard on hubby his brothers and his dad so now they can all move on and greave.
Really looking forward to our break and it will be good to take OH mind off it, luckly the kids are not affected at all as they have never met her as shes always been 2 ill x

Aaawww So Sorry For Your Loss >< , But At Least She Is At Rest Now, It Is A Terrible Illness. My father who is only coming up to 78 is currently living in a home for dementia residents, he has vascular dementia, He doesn't know anyone now, barely talks to anyone and just shuffles round the home and other things which i wont go into and tell the carers to F*** off. So I do feel for you .
