off her food
Hi everyone,
Sasha is 9 months old on Wednesday and has been very clingy for a few days and seems to have forgotten her manners. Ive lost count of the amount of times that she has jumped up onto my lap without asking first whuch is really unusual. She also tried to take a biscuit out of my hubbies hand the other day which she has never done before. She normally goes into her crate at night on her own with no fuss when I put her in there last night she whined and was really restless ie it looked like she was burrowing into her bedding. This morning I put her food down and she only ate around half of it which really isnt like her she hasn't done that since she was little. Any ideas what might be going on with her xx

Re: off her food
She's a little to young for the teenage phase but that could be it. The best way to cope is to go back to basics with the training.
If she isn't drinking normally it could be a health issue.

Re: off her food
Aww no sounds like Sasha is going through something, like j said it could be a teenage phase but it could be she's feeling under the weather, remind me she's had her first season hasn't she? Xx

Re: off her food
I would agree with Hayley, if she hasn't already had one, I would suggest she is coming into season.

Re: off her food
Hi, she hasn't had her first season yet. I cant really see properly her tail has been down since yesterday she wont let me look. Shes drinking normally, she just seems restless to me, like she cant get comfy. She's also dragged her bum on the floor twice today, I took up her food this morning and haven't tiven her any treats today so im hoping she will be hungry by this evening. Hope she isn't coming down with anything xx

Re: off her food
Bless her, she's such a lovely little girl normally although she still can be quite naughty and mischievous sometimes but she never ever forgets her manners which is what made me think something may be happening. Well im guessing we will know soon whether it is or not. I will keep a close eye on her. Thanks everyone for your advice xx

Hi Sazzle after a bit of persuading she ate it but not like she normally does. Its normally gone in a minute but it took her ages. She is lying next to me now but she looks really sad, she wont even give me a kiss

I hope it is that and nothing else. I don't like seeing her so sad, she didnt even get excited about going out today. I decided to keep her on the lead just in case xx

Re: off her food
she's exhibiting the same behaviour as Thistle pre season. Thistle has just had her first at 9 months. I posted a video on the video bit on here, it shows you just how big their lady bits can get, her bleeding wasn't excessive, and her appetite returned, but she was very out of sorts before she had a show.

Re: off her food
Oh bless her! I'd agree with everybody else! My dads whippets were absolutely miserable whenever they came into season, didn't experience it with Biscuit as she was spayed when I took her home but it sounds very similar to the whippets behaviour, and other dogs that I have seen in kennels.

Re: off her food
Hi Ali,
She still hasnt come into season but she seemed fine from Monday back to her normal playful self, then last night my daughter came round she got so excited that she wee'd on the carpet. My hubby raised his voice at her and put her out in the garden for a toilet break and to calm down. My daughter left as it was only a flying visit when we let sasha in she went straight into her crate ad stayed there wouldn't come out even when I called her and tempted her with her ball. This morning she refused her food again and just seems really sad again. Surely she cant be sulking because he raised his voice to her ??????
