Footwear?
So what footwear do you all wear on doggy walks?
I don't anything special, either old trainers or wellies. Was wondering what you wear and why?

Re: Footwear?
Berghaus Walking Boots but when I hit the fields some Town and Country wellies (cos they were on offer). The walking boots I have had for 15 months now and they are still going strong.

Re: Footwear?
Walking boots, Berghaus also - 1 million years old but reliable and rather comforting.
Or trainers if it's summer and dry.
Or these Hunter wellington boots. I think they're ok. I have a mental block where knee high Wellies are concerned. They may be a little pretentious or something, but I can wear them on my way home from the park and vaguely blend in with people who are not wearing the same gross mud-smeared parka I'm wearing, and so on...
Janey: I have to admit I love the fact that you are all colour co-ordinated. I have been trying to fend off my natural instinct to buy leads that match with collars that match with my scarf, or whatever. But now I know that you do, I can let go and start with the fashion experiments on my dog walks. Thank you!

Re: Footwear?
Wow, I feel like a positive pauper reading through this thread!
Here's me with me Dunlop Wellies (And they ARE bloody uncomfortable to walk in) and my Karrimor walking boots.
Having said that, my £25-00 (on offer) Karrimor boots have had some real hammer and are still going strong after 18 months. I've only had to waterproof them and they are ready for doing again. I very rarely go out in trainers due to me being diabetic and have to look after my feet, also where I go walking, the path is a disused rail track so the extra support for my ankles is a must.
I need to buy a better pair of wellies though

Re: Footwear?
after having a lot of problems with my feet i got a pair of skechers. I was told they were really good but was doubtful. It turned out they are great and so comfy. I`ve just bought another pair for myself and a pair for my daughter who loves them.

Re: Footwear?
I live in my Dublin river boots, but about to splash out on some Dublin pinnacle boots...I tend to get them on offer at equestrian shows, but I've found that they're a great investment. Have had mine for over a year and I wear them for several hours every day. They're made of leather but are waterproof like wellies.
I tried some town and country wellies but they made my legs sweat (ewww!) although to be fair I was wearing them while mowing the lawn on a very hot day...so prob not the best test

Re: Footwear?
I use my old work boots but recently found they leak so I may invest in some £10 wellies. I have some old trainers I waterproofed by rubbing a candle over them and then heated with a hairdryer until soaked in and left to dry.
Got to save the pennies now the pooch is here. She eats better than I do some days lol

Re: Footwear?
After wearing the wrong type footwear for a considerable amount of time and injuring myself, I invested in a pair of Nike Air Max's (with the air going across the whole shoe) and can honestly say, they are the most comfortable trainers I've ever worn; it literally feels like you're floating/walking on air (I suppose that's the point of them lol):
Yes, they are super expensive, I paid £160 and a tad chavvy but if you've got the cash to spend and don't care what people think, i'd definitely recommend them!
