Thank you Big Grin

He's growing to quick for my liking Laughing but he's growing into a lovely dog, much more then i thought, untill now i didn't realise how lovely staffy's are in looks and temperament. But coming on here and seeing all the photo's of all the beautiful and handsome dogs on here, it has made me love the breed even more, perhaps people who aren't up on staffy's should read this site and look at the photo's and then their minds might be changed about what the media/newspaper says about this breed.

We went to our local carboot sale, which was really busy, i walked him down 4 rows and omg that was enough, so many people kept stopping us to have a cuddle and a stroke it was unbelieve but there was the ones that need to read up on the breed, Bruno being a puppy and likes chewing hands but in a friendly way got hold of a girl's hand she must have been in her late 20's (nothing personal to the 20's on here Smile ) but she looked at me as if to say he bite me, I said to her, he doesn't bite, he's a puppy and doing what a puppy would do and i am in progress of training him not to do it and I think you had better read up on staffy's when you get home Laughing

im just saying people are paying extortionate prices for blues at the moment this is down to greedy breeders. not long ago blues weren't even recgonised by the kennel club cause they were inter bred from black staffs.

i dont have to do any research your the one who has to do the research they fell out of favour what does that mean, at the end of the day, blues were produced from breeding two black staffs together from the same litter.

yes bigwazza that maybe true, but the original true blue as they were called were bred with to black staffs from the same litter. and a lot of the blues produced today are descended from them two dogs

I'm sorry, but that is totally wrong. The colour blue is just a dilute of black. It happens quite naturally from non-related matings. The reason it fell out of favour is because of the lack of pigment, which is a fault is you intend to show your dog.

The blue colour in staffs has been around since before they actually became a recognised breed! It is thought to have come from the Blue Paul (now extinct).

look at the end of the day, where did the colour blue come from, it came from black dogs its called genetics and thats where the colour blue came from black dogs. so if you can find blue pauls bloodline (which i doubt you will), you will see that he is from a line of black dogs. its simple as that.

i think ye are contradicting yourselves as ye said blue is a dilution of balck so there must have been black in the line to produce a blue. Big Grin

The blue colour is a dilute of black, nobody is denying that. There almost certainly was black in the ancestors of the Blue Paul, but as there are no records of how the breed came to be, it's impossible to say how they originally first produced the Blue Paul.

You have said that the first blue stafford was produced by the mating of two siblings - that is totally false. That's why I brought up the Blue Paul, because that's where the colour is most likely to have come from.

Exactly Vanessa my mam bred black Labs never did a blue one pop out.

Shane could be correct but who knows which 2 dogs bred in 1823 the blue could be diluted black, a through back to old blue in the gene's or maybe a black dog is just a dark blue one

who know's and who cares if you don't like don't buy no problem
